Look I've got to be honest. I hadn't heard of the Hi-Point 995TS Carbine until a co-worker asked had I shot one before. Before I get into the "word on the streets" about it, I have to admit to something. You won't read about where you can find this gun locally. Getting time to hit the gun store hasn't been easy in the past few months. On this blog I can only do what I'm capable of, and that's locating the gun for sale online. First I'm gonna tell you what my co-worker kept saying about it.
If you're into guns, you may have come across that co-worker who you bond with. You both randomly show pictures or exchange new release info. Gunversation is an enjoyable thing. So my guy asks me about the Hi-point and I told him I hadn't heard about it. He's like "my brother has this gun. I shot it and on my first shot I hit center. Man, oh man it shoots straight. It shoots straight right out of the box". I laughed, but totally respected the story. He's a gun that has a collection of old and new guns. The story made me immediately tap my google chrome app to search budsgunshop for the gun.
My curiousity was based on Hi-point as a brand. In this world of many guns, they are like the "very low end" of the bunch. The thing is....many people either have had one or knows someone who has one. A 9 mm Hi-Point was the first gun my best friend purchased when he turned 21. Never the less, it was reliable even without proper maintenance.
This Carbine 995TS is a pretty nice gun. At first glance you don't realize it's styled as a bullpup. Coming in at 31" overall with a 16.5" barrel. Out the box, you get it with a 10 round magazine. A gun in this class can not survive on just a 10 round alone. A 20 round mag can be purchased separately. I found them on cheaperthandirt.com. The standard model is an all weather, black polymer gun. I also found some camo models. Get a 45 acp version if your in need of additional power.
Check my links below for places I found with guns currently in stock today. Cheers to finding a new great shooter with a modest price tag.
