103rd Edition Shooter's Bible 2011

My co-worker gave me this book, so tonight will be the first time I've turned any pages with the intent of learning about another firearm. Shooter's Bible is exactly the phrase that is always featured on the Cover.

"The World's Bestselling Firearms Reference"

The book features all the specs and pictures of each gun, while labeling prices for specific models of each gun. They also have sections talking about sights, reloading tools and scopes. I'm NOT taking you through all 602 pages of the book. Instead, lets just look at the section in the beginning for new guns, while taking note that it isn't 2011 anymore.
There was a surprise on the inside cover page. My at first nonchalant reaction erupted to a smile

because a Marlin 1895 SBL was starring at me. Not the barrel, but a side view of the rifle. Man I LOVE THIS GUN! Chambered in 45-70, it's nothing to play with. 45-70 rounds are 45 acp on superiods. The length of the shell can be compared to stacking nearly 3 45 acp shell casings. It's a hard hitting round that first used in 1873. Developed at The Army's Springfield Armory for use in the Springfield model 1873. Both guns are featured in the pictures below, with the Marlin showing in a stainless steal frame.

The book then goes into the new rifle and handgun models for each manufacturer. Starting off like, "Ruger has made 3 new rifles this year", "Smith & Wesson celebrates it's Anniversary with a new revolver", kind of talk. Everything there after is filled with pictures of guns categorized by brand and gun type. I'll be using this book to find guns I new knew exist. Barnes and Nobles has the 110th paperback edition of Shooter's Bible going for $25.48. The book could always just sit on the center table in your Living room.
